The Parker Institute Inaugurates Two New Fellowship Training Programs

Two new training positions have been established at the Sean Parker Institute to train otolaryngologists in laryngology. The Sean Parker Fellowship is a unique, two-year program intended to educate the next generation of laryngeal physician investigators. Over the course of the program, physicians will not only acquire clinical skills and knowledge, but pursue coursework and research that will culminate in a Masters of Science in Clinical & Translational Investigation.

The Institute Has Moved to a New Home

The new, purpose-built clinical offices of the Sean Parker Institute have opened their doors at 240 East 59th Street in New York City. The space brings together all members of the voice care team under one roof, and features the latest evaluation and treatment technologies, procedure suites equipped with up-to-date instrumentation for the entire range of office voice procedures, and integrated data collection, all in an acoustically-optimized environment.

Research Grant Awarded to Parker Institute’s Babak Sadoughi, MD To Study Laryngeal Nerve Physiology

Following a competitive national submission process, the Parker Institute was awarded a research grant by the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society, a.k.a. "The Triological Society", to study the mechanisms of motor nerve function in the human larynx. The project, led by Parker laryngologist Dr. Babak Sadoughi, will use magnetic stimulation of the brain’s cortex to trigger response signals in the vocal folds and other muscles of the larynx.
