The Sean Parker Institute for the Voice has matched its first class of Fellows, to begin training in laryngology in July 2018. The inaugural Sean Parker Fellow will be Keith Chadwick, MD. Dr. Chadwick, who has a vocal performance background, is currently in otolaryngology residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. The first-of-its-kind Sean Parker Fellowship pairs clinical training with a formal program leading to a Masters degree in Clinical and Translational Investigation, and is designed to provide an exceptional foundation for future researchers and thought-leaders in the field.

Vocal Fold Hemorrhage Not as Harmful as Commonly Thought, Parker Institute Study Shows

A Sean Parker Institute study published in the April 2017 issue of The Laryngoscope (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27714858) shows that the probability of long-term voice damage after vocal fold hemorrhage is much lower than is commonly thought. Vocal fold hemorrhage has long been considered to have high potential for vocal fold scar and permanent voice damage.
