The Parker Institute's Inaugural Seminar for Singers Features Guest Speaker Joan Lader in Program Promoting Vocal Health in Performers

Co-sponsored by MusiCares and Weill Cornell's Center for the Performing Artist, the Sean Parker Institute for the Voice offered a program of lectures and demonstrations about vocal health aimed at performers on Monday November 13. The inaugural event drew a capacity crowd, underlining the need for education in this area. Legendary voice trainer and therapist Joan Lader was featured as a guest speaker in a program that also covered phonatory anatomy and physiology, the mechanisms of injury and its treatment, and the Institute's own evidence-driven approach to treating performers. The program was offered to the performing artist community at no charge.
