Sean Parker Institute Director Lucian Sulica, MD addressed more than 400 otolaryngologists at the biennial International Course of the Colombian Otolaryngology Association in Cartagena, Feb 28-May 2, on subjects of Institute reseach and expertise. These included the rapidly evolving and controversial topic of vocal fold paresis and vocal fold injury from voice use in performers and others. Both are subjects of investigative focus at the Institute. He also reviewed developments in the treatment of vocal fold paralysis and systemic neurologic disease of the larynx like essential tremor and spasmodic dysphonia. These topics were met with enthusiasm and interest by the more than 400 practitioners assembled for this event.
