This review of 259 patients at the Parker Institute revealed evaluation paths and differences between diagnoses made with regular laryngoscopy and subspecialty evaluation with stroboscopy. Although most patients had the larynx visualized fairly promptly, many patients who received no diagnosis, or a diagnosis of reflux, muscle tension dysphonia, edema or infection, had their diagnosis changed after subspecialty evaluation.
